There’s nothing like visiting a country to learn its language. But the next best thing is to bring that country to you. So why not turn your classroom or playground into a French cafe for a day? Maggie McNulty gives you some tips for the best service.

Food and France are perfect partners – and a French café is a great way to practise using French in a realistic situation as well as developing numeracy, organisation and team- working skills. At Hinton St George First School our regular French café is enjoyed and well supported by parents and friends of the school. Here are some tried-and-tested ideas based on our very successful project.
