Front and back cover PDF

Use these images of the front and back cover of The Christmas Wish in conjunction with the ‘Explore the story’ lesson in the Snow topic.

Can the children tell what the story is going to be about by looking at the cover? What type of story do they think it is? Do the images and text make them want to find out more?

You can also use the resource to discuss the anatomy of a book jacket. What are the different elements? What information can you collect by studying a cover? (Title, author, illustrator, images, back blurb, information about the author, ISBN, price and so on.)
