The story of Monkey King’s Party centres on the peach, which is the most highly prized fruit in the Emperor’s garden – Heaven’s fruit. In China, peaches are traditionally thought to bring good luck and are a symbol of immortality. Chinese brides carry peach blossoms, and they are also used to celebrate the New Year. Taking China and the peach as a starting point, these activities will help children to develop their knowledge and understanding of countries around the world by finding out about different national dishes. They will also investigate the range of food available in their local area.
