Holding a sports day is a traditional event in most primary schools. Many schools organise races where children compete individually. Others take a team-focused approach where children take part in fun activities and rotate around the events. Some combine both, extending the day to include fun morning activities, a picnic lunch and then afternoon races. Why not break out and organise a different type of event this year? When deciding which type of sports day you want, remember that it is often the one day that adults can recall from their school days – you want to make sure pupils remember it for the right reasons!
